  CALL FOR PAPERS  
    You are cordially invited to submit papers for presentation at this conference which brings together academic researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss an array of topics affecting the Western Hemisphere in today’s global business world. The conference is sponsored by Texas A&M International University, the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, and the Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade, in partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas’s Facultad de Comercio, Administración y Ciencias Sociales. The 2017 conference will take place on the campus of Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas, USA.

  Submission Guidelines  
  • All participants must submit their work electronically to cswht@tamiu.edu
  • Papers can be submitted as full-length manuscripts, short summary notes, or abstracts. Only full-length papers and summary notes will be considered for inclusion in the special issue of the ITJ. Summary notes should be between five and ten single-spaced pages using standard margins, a 12-point font, and including all references, tables, and graphs. Abstracts should be between 100 and 500 words.
  • Papers are invited on any topic related to global business issues including, but not limited to, accounting, economics, finance, foreign direct investment, globalization, information technology, investment, logistics, management, marketing, sustainability, trade, and development.
  • Submissions imply that at least one author will register for the conference and be present at the time designated in the conference program. Research-in-progress will be accepted. Graduate students and nonacademic affiliates are also welcome.
  • Please send a MS Word file of the abstract (100 words maximum) and/or the complete paper by February 10, 2017 for inclusion in the conference. Each submission must include a cover page containing only the title of the research with information about the author(s).
  • Upon submission, please indicate:
    • if you would like your full paper or abstract only to be considered for inclusion in the electronic proceedings
    • if you would like your submission to be considered for publication in The International Trade Journal
    • if you prefer to make your presentation in English or Spanish
    • for students, whether you prefer to present your research in poster or oral format.
  Registration Fees  
  • $200.00 U.S. Dollars - Early Registration
    Payment due by February 22 | 2017
  • $250.00 U.S. Dollars - Regular Registration
    Payment due by March 22 | 2017
  • $300.00 U.S. Dollars - Late Registration
    On or after March 23 | 2017
  • Students qualify for a 50% discount based on the date payment is received
  • Payable by Check, Money Order, or Credit Card to Texas A&M International University
 
  Additional Information  

All expenses, including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation, etc., are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by TAMIU.
